SNAG's mission provides Native youth the opportunity to achieve balance and harmony, address historical and modern grievances, and explore and develop leadership and community skills through arts and cultural expression. Through a holistic approach that combines spirituality, tradition and multi-media skills, we aim to shape the next generation of Native leaders.

Our organization is based in Pomo Tribal territory, one hour north of the Bay Area in Northern CA. We work to develop and implement, gatherings, workshops and cultural events uniting tribes, community leaders, artists, youth and allies. By curating and publishing art and music each year for the past 18 years with SNAG Magazine we have published over 450 Native artists to date in a stunning collection of 11, 64-page issues, and a 300 page anthology.

“Our acronym SNAG is slang, referring to the “snagging” of a romantic partner at a gathering like a powwow.”
