Seventh Native American Generation (SNAG) was established in 2002 to teach Native Youth to amplify their voice by making their own media. In the last 10 years, SNAG has published seven full color magazines, trained hundreds of youth, hosted packed annual community arts events, and provided free weekly workshops in SF for Native Youth to learn skills in graphic design, layout, photography, film, fine art and writing.
This year, our weekly workshops will be hosted in collaboration with PODER at 474 Valencia St, Suite #125 in San Francisco every Tuesday 4:30-7pm. Our calendar year begins Tuesday Sept. 27th. Youth Aged 12-18 are invited to participate. This Fall/Winter Youth participants will produce and layout the 8th print edition of SNAG Magazine, participate in a camp out on Alcatraz Island, and some will be selected to attend the Bioneers conference in Marin. The SNAG staff is excited to offer their skills in media training, and we look forward to another fun year of media making!
