SNAG: Celebrating a Decade of Indigenous Media, filmed/edited by Barni Qaasim

SNAG youth filmed the 5th Annual American Indian Friendship House Powwow, conducting interviews and capturing the dancing and drumming of their friends and family. More videos are at our YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/user/SNAGrevista. SNAG has teamed up with PODER (People Organizing in Defense of the Earth and her Resources) for an Innovative Partnership collaboration where PODER is teaching our youth environmental issues and organizing, and we are providing multimedia skills and training to produce a newsletter, t-shirts, posters and other promotional material. Here is a clip from the "Toxic Tour" the kids shot on their cameras while learning about environmental issues and gentrification in the Mission District of San Francisco.

A SNAG/Friendship House youth video that they wrote, filmed and edited as part of their learning with PODER about environmental toxins: Watch as Ari uses indigenous traditions to triumph over corporate polluters turning inner city residents into zombies!

Our 2009 event at the Women's Building in SF.

We helped organize a trip to Palestine and two events to fundraise for the trip with Huaxtec, PEP and 7GIV.

SNAG co-founder and Director Ras K'dee speaks about the trip to Palestine on Grit TV.

Digital Smoke Signals produced this video after attending our event in 2007.

The youth in our workshops filmed this video, took the photographs in it, did the interviews, and created the music beat you hear. Plus, they skateboarded!
